I have always loved to dance. I started dancing when I was about five years old, taking lessons in Ballroom, Latin and Disco with Fred and Barbara Clark at the Clark Dean Dance School. By the age of seven, I had grown so tall for my age that they started training me to dance the lead in Ballroom and Latin, which really opened my eyes to a fuller experience of dance, informing the way that I teach today. At the age of thirteen, I was a regular helper
in the adult classes, and by the age of sixteen, I was teaching Private Lessons to students.

My love of dance continued into adulthood where my focus shifted to the competition circuit,
embracing several years of fake tan, feathers, and false eyelashes. For the most part, I enjoyed these years of competing; having the opportunity to be successful at something that I loved was the best part of the experience!

I had a gap in my dance years to start a family (I am thrilled to say that they have joined me for the ride)! My husband, Steve, daughter, Hannah, and son, Jacob, will often be at classes with me. I continued to find joy in teaching dance before making the decision to branch out on my own.

After years of longing to have my own dance school, I proudly opened Dance Dance and More Dance in 2016. Despite having the experience of competitions and graded examinations, I prefer to teach with a mindfulness of the social side of dancing, and I am glad to have built a dance school that reflects this. 

More Dance encompasses a teaching style where everybody gets a chance to dance, no matter their age or ability! I am passionate about making our classes inclusive for everyone. I want each student to find the joy in dancing – I believe that our dance school facilitates this experience.
